Roll into the Future!
Ever rolled before? Me neither; til just a few days ago. What is rolling? In my oponion it's the next big thing ready to go big in the fitness industry. And soon you will see rolling classes if there aren't some already out there, everywhere. So what is rolling exactly? Rolling is the process of using a foam roller to relieve tension in muscles throughout the body. The foam rollers are usually around 12-24 inches long but I have seen them 36" long and normally around 5-6 inches in diameter. If you havn't rolled yet....you should. The benefits of rolling seem endless....I refer to it has getting a deep tissue massage without the Swedan...<smile>. A friend Jesse first introduced a roller to me just a few days ago and for my first day of introducing them into my excersize program I was able to add more reps, more sets, heavier weight and felt better afterwards. The roller works deep into muscle knots and loosens up muscles to allow the oxygen to flow around them. At first some first time rollers experiences will be painful...but stick with it, work it slowly and you will enjoy the benefits. So get out there and roll today. - RP
